Wimbledon 2022 Day 14

Last day of Wimbledon and Novak Djokovic has done it! He's won the men's championship. Well done!👏👏👏👏👏 He's pulled away from Federer with his now 21 Grand Slam titles.🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆Congratulations, Novak!

What can one say? Djokovic certainly deserves this one after the trials he's been through this year. He's an amazing player who isn't appreciated for his talent and athleticism. Like Federer, he's an all-court player. Hope he wins many more. A worthy winner.

Legends were won by my favourites including, of course, one of the greats, Martina Hingis partnering Clijsters and Bartoli (partnering Zimonjic) in the legends mixed. 👏👏👏👏🎾All the legends were not just awesome players but also highly entertaining. Congratulations to all! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🌠🌠🌠🌠🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🤗🤗🤗🤗🍸🍸🍸🍸🍾

And the women's doubles were also won by my favourites: Krejcikova and Siniakova. Congratulations to both!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🏆🏆🎾🎾🌠🌠🤗🤗🍸🍸🍾

Wimbledon has ended for another year. 😢It went very well with fantastic winners! Not forgetting Rybakina, the women's singles champion.🏆

Jumping exercises

At the end of my workouts, after running around the cones as described in my previous posts, I use the same cones for jumping exercises. When jumping or hopping, I keep my upper body including my arms quite still and make the jump come from a springing action originating in the legs. I do this by trying to get the jump from using elastic energy which is when you make your legs store up and then release energy for explosive energy propelling the jump, rather like a coil spring being compressed and then released. My jumping action is based on ballet technique and exercises (and used in most if not all forms of dance) where you roll from the heel to the toes and spring-load the ankles from a plie knee bend to create a strong, controlled, high jump without using the upper torso and arms to help lift-off.       Cone jumps: I line up 3 cones (the triangular ones) all equidistant from each other and jump over them one after the other in quick succession in a variety of w...

Halep won Montreal, Rogers Cup so congratulations to her. She has certainly settled into the coveted number 1 spot with a strong lead over the number 2 player, Wozniacki.   Both players have won a Grand Slam but what of those who haven’t? All tennis players want to be number 1 in the world which is why it surprises me that they don’t enjoy the same privileges as those who win Grand Slams. Maybe one day this will change because it is a fantastic achievement and should be celebrated accordingly! Last week presented us with an agonizing example of how easily players can become injured and how this impacts on their ranking/career. Buzarnescu, after many years of struggling with injuries, finally made it to a well-deserved number 20 in the world. She was on the up. The week before she won her first title!
