Wimbledon 2022 Day 13 Womens Singles Final

What a great final! Congratulations to Elena Rybakina! πŸ†πŸŒ πŸŽ†πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽΎShe's an exciting player and I'm delighted she won the Wimbledon title! I think many were surprised by the result but I wasn't when I saw her bio. Rybakina has had some serious training in both tennis and fitness since a child. That's bound to help and keep you in good stead later on in your career. She's possibly better off that she didn't peak in her teens but rather in her early twenties. I think she's just 23 and ranked 23 although she has been as high as 12 in the world. With only a couple of titles to date this is a big one. Yes, she's Russian born but doesn't live there or play for Russia but rather for Kazakhstan. In 2018 she became a citizen of Kazakhstan, switched tennis federation and started to represent that country. This is an historic day for tennis in Kazakhstan and puts the country on the map. Hands up those who know where Kazakhstan is and can point it out on a map!πŸ—Ί

After all the ban was on players from Russia and Belarus who live in those countries and represent those countries. It doesn't include Russian born tennis players who live outside Russia and play for that country not Russia. Furthermore, Kazakhstan respects the territorial integrity of the UkraineπŸ‘ The country has had the largest anti-war protests against Russia's invasion. They don't recognize the areas in Eastern Ukraine that the Russians wish to annex and make independent. Kazakhstan calls the invasion what it is - a war - and has sent supplies to help Ukrainians.

Rybakina is the first tennis player representing an Asian country to win Wimbledon. πŸ†πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘She's the first player from Kazakhstan to win Wimbledon!πŸ†πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Today is the first Wimbledon final in the Open Era to feature two players who have never been in a Grand Slam Final!
